unibz Mensa App
Software Design and Development
The very first unibz (acronym for Free University of Bozen-Bolzano) Mensa application was basically the result of my personal frustration that my home University did not offer an appropriate solution to check the daily canteen menu. This triggered immense queues and time inefficiencies during lunch breaks since students used to choose their dishes when it was their turn to get food.
Optimizing that process was a big deal to me. On a personal level, it also offered the opportunity to increase my knowledge in Objective-C coding. A year later, I decided that enough users were on board to make big changes worthwhile. My goal was now to incorporate an intuitive user interface with new functions that students would love to use on a daily basis. This time I used Apple’s newest programming language: Swift.
A few days after the release, I’d already received fantastic feedback from fellow students which is what probably all developers are working for.
